News from the Southern Region

The photo represents what has been happening in the Southern Region, We are in touch with each other through the WhatsApp and by phone. Sometimes people are finding the COVID-19 Lockdown difficult, lonely and confusing, when it comes to restrictions being imposed or lifted. Everybody wants to know when we can meet up again to go on an outing. We have planned to travel to Mount Melleray
for our next Southern Pilgrimage. In Rathmore, Co. Kerry, Máire O’Leary celebrated her 80th birthday in April. She was so happy when her former pupils came to her garden and sang the songs she had taught them at school. She continues her music and prayer with her special friends in Tearmann and other houses in Rathmore. Rearcross Faith and Light have commenced Zoom meetings on a Sunday evening. There is wonderful participation from core members. We plan to take up the offer from An Post and send cards from our community freepost to those of us who live in nursing homes or care homes.

Let’s look forward to a happy and friendly Christmas.
