Don Marco Bove, of Italy has said yes to the call to be international chaplain, from September 2019, at the end of the mandate of Fr Isaac Martinez.
The board of directors and the international coordinating team elected him during their joint meeting in Salamanca in March 2019.
Don Marco has been a member of Faith and Light since 1983, and has participated in a number of International meetings and assemblies. He has held different roles throughout these years and is currently the national Chaplain of Faith and Light in Italy. He is known for his dynamism and love for Faith and Light.
“I thank you for your trust!”, he said when he was informed about his election. “I am a bit scared of this responsibility. But after taking a time of prayers, I have decided to say Yes, and I am confident this is a call from God”

SHORT BIOGRAPHY OF DON MARCO BOVE
He was born in Milan on December 2, 1960, he grew up in the parish of San Vittore al Corpo, in the heart of the city. He was ordained a priest by Cardinal Carlo Maria Martini on June 13, 1987.
He was first a coadjutor in the parish of San Vittore Martire in Rho, where he coordinated the Oratory and the Ministry of Youth. After nine years, he moved to Milan, at the Corso Venezia seminar, to accompany the young priests during the first five years of their ministry.
From 2007 to 2016, he was a parish priest at San Nicolao della Flue in Milan and at San Lorenzo in Monluè, also in charge of the La Grangia de Monluè association, which welcomes immigrants from countries in difficulties.
He was then dean of the deanery of Forlanini and prefect of the region of Milan-East. Since 2017 he has presided the Sacra Famiglia Foundation, which includes various facilities for the sick, the persons with a disability and the elderly.
He got to know Faith and Light during his seminary. He started as a friend. He accompanied the National Council for several years before the birth of the provinces. From 2009 to 2015, he was the spiritual assistant of the province River of Peace. Since 2015 he has been the national chaplain of the Faith and Light “Onlus” association after having accompanied the path that led to the Statute and recognition of Faith and Light by the Italian Bishops’ Conference.
